Some players even found ways to cheese the anomaly modifier to get extra time.īasically, giving players a time limit did make the Nightfall Strike intense, stressful, and difficult but not in the right ways. Rather than approach the event with any sort of strategy or tact, most players ran through any section of the strike they could since time was of the essence. While the time mechanic had good intentions when it came to Nightfall Strikes, the system severely limited the appeal of the endgame activity. The rewards won’t stop there, though, as Bungie plans to reward players for hitting certain high scores and give players ways to show off their accomplishments within the Nightfall Strike. Say, for example, a fireteam hits 50,000 points in the Strike then Zavala will have a Powerful Engram waiting in The Tower. It’s also unclear how the Strike Scoring will factor into the Nightfall Strike rewards but it’s safe to assume that a certain point threshold will dictate whether a reward is given. There will also be selectable score modifiers for players to choose that will apparently dictate how the fireteam racks up points. What we can glean from Bungie’s post about Strike Scoring is that it will focus on the fireteam completing specific objectives within the Strike.
It’s not entirely clear how scoring will work in the Nightfall Strikes but we’re sure this will be a welcome change for veteran players.

Luckily, those frustrations will soon be a thing of the past, as the developer has announced plans to change Nightfall Strikes in Season 3.Īs part of a forthcoming February update for Destiny 2, Bungie will be introducing Strike Scoring to Nightfall Strikes as a replacement for the current time limit mechanic. Although developer Bungie hoped to do something new with the Nightfall Strikes in Destiny 2, the reception to the timer mechanic has been fairly negative.
